I am so ready for this baby to be born. First of all I tried on a dress today and I felt like a parade float. I haven't gained a ton of weight, but my belly is huge. Second, it feels like she's stabbing me from the inside. I believe that she has fashioned a shiv out of one of my ribs and she is poking me with it. For those of you that don't know what a shiv is, here is a definition:
A shiv (from the Romani word chiv) is a slang term for a sharp or pointed implement used as an improvised knife-like weapon. The shiv is the favored weapon of inmates in prisons across the world. It is infamous for its versatility - a shiv can be anything from a glass shard with cloth wrapped around one end to form a handle, to a razorblade stuck in the end of a toothbrush, to a sharpened spoon. Some inmates have even sharpened the ends of pork chop bones to make them into weapons.
On a another note, we bought a baby doll and we have been carrying it around to acclimate the dogs to the baby. They seem very, very interested in this doll each and every time we hold it but they haven't done anything to it. I will try to post pictures soon. Next, week we have another ultrasound, so I will provide another update then.

IT'S A GIRL!
I had a feeling very early on in my pregnancy that I was having a girl. On Friday, my suspicions were confirmed at my first ultrasound. She refused to turn over to get a good view of her heart no matter what prodding the technician tried. Ah, she's stubborn already, just like her mom and dad. I think we are in trouble.
